During this past week, we were given an assignment that required us to write a paper on whatever topic we chose for the annotated bibliography. The topic that I had chosen was religion and print in Germany. Luckily, I had found many books to go with my topic and I found it really interesting!
When I first went to the library, SHOCK AND HORROR! My books were gone.... I'm thinking my bibliography must have been pretty good. I had to hit the books again and I found another place in the library that was specifically for printing in the age of the Reformation! Magical place. It had everything that I needed to write my paper with.
The paper itself was not too hard to write just because I had some great sources. In class we had the opportunity to have a peer review, which was very helpful. Papers definitely need reviewing! I realized how wordy and chatty my first draft was and changed it to be more of a scholarly paper, which felt a little weird because this whole class has been a little informal. When writing the paper, I really wanted to put pictures in to show what the printing looked like! It would have made it so much more real for the readers as I had looked up all these images to know what it was really like. We are very visual people, but this was not another blog page.
